I've been in my head a lot lately...

)Please know that I am rambling here, un-editing...just as I write so...)

You know that vast space in the universe...

Full of so many possibilities and I have really been lingering on

why...why there is so much freaking pain in the world..

This beautiful world, which is full of so many beautiful, loving potentials.

I guess, so many lessons to be learned but instead of lessons being so full of achey mush, why not be lessons from the heart instead of lessons from fear.

I'm gonna babble so randomly here so buckle up..

that is, if you want to ride with me..

I want to focus on the positive so hopefully with each subject my ramblings will lead to the sunshine, it will..

I have been questioning myself a lot lately..

I have this deep desire to get my art out into the world,

but at what price?

Here I am selling myself..trying to go from one media (technology and store) to the next to get my stuff out there.

It's a lot of work and frankly it's taking away the joy because it's seemingly taking all my time.

And I want to find joy in it all but...I have this whisper in the back of my mind that keeps at me...

children, children, children..

Now I know I am a good mom, and I do my best but this line of work is consuming and sometimes, even when I am "here" with the kids, my mind may be somewhere else like:

gotta get that order shipped out, I gotta make a tweet schedule to draw traffic to my store, gotta call so and so back, what am I going to wear to this meeting, deadlines, supplies to order, house to

maintain, bills to pay,collection to get out to art rep, homework to keep on top of, dinner to make, shower to take, garden to dream about, sleep, lover to share time with, taxi, feed the animals, grocery shop...etc...and the list goes on, believe me it does..

And there are MANY of you out there that do all these things and much more just to survive.

And then something inside says...these are just things...things

It makes me sad...this "too busi-ness" that we are creating to survive, to get a head or to plan for our futures life savings, because lets face it some day we may just want to sit and BE...

But why not now? why can't we just sit and be?

Just be moms, and have that be a wonderful and FULLY appreciated position in the "company" called family.

I had this conversation with my friend Julie recently about women and how we have kind of turned the tables against ourselves in the whole "women" movement thing.

We have somewhat masculated ourselves..

Transformed some of our beautiful feminine qualities and replaced it with the power hungry, achieve all, I'll show them energy. (Not saying I am like this but achieving is a driving force)

I think its beautiful that women are going for their dreams and I encourage it but when it comes time to have children it makes me somewhat sad that in this society many of us (who are relying on the womens income too) have to send their children to daycare at very

young ages..When I truly believe that being a mom is a very important role/job in a family, being able to nurture their children is good not only for the child but also for the mother..and family as a whole. I think

its wonderful when I see families coming together and grandparents are helping with daycare while moms go to work..To me that seems better than just sticking a baby in a daycare facility because there is no other option to survive..

bills have to be paid... but anyway back the masculated thing.

Instead of showing that we can do anything you can, to the men...why were we not able to show men that we are queens and that they are kings and we should treat each other as so.

Not, women waiting on men hand and foot while man sits back and does nothing. Because unfortunately, some men are still that way.. and unfortunately some women are still really pissed about this inequality and instead of creating a loving balance it becomes competition and when it comes down to it, it ends up being not so good for our children.

It's all about energy... I hope I am explaining this at least a little bit understandably.

anyways onward..

savings..

We are all like squirrels scrambling to save save save for our future..

save for retirement, worrying about not having enough when we retire, worrying about affording college for our children, being able to afford healthcare, freaking blah...

Preparedness is great but with so many scrambling just to make ends meet these days it seems as if life is leading to survival of the fittest bank account in old age.

If you don't learn how the dollar works, if you don't have the money to spend on learning how the dollar works, or the time to teach yourself how the dollar can work for you then...

you are screwed.

Bullshit!

There is enough $ in this world to go around and all this greed is sad...And all the anger toward the greedy people of the world is not making anything better.

Some people can work and work and work and are like a hamster in a wheel getting nowhere.

Arguments can be made, well that hamster must be stupid then...no, just running to keep up, so many are running just to keep up, only to be able to afford shitty healthcare with not much say in what they think is best for them, unhealthy foods because its the cheapest...etc..

So I gotta focus on love, focus on what I want...

What do I want?

I want people to follow their hearts..and know that they can and have that choice...

and in following their hearts comes growth and changes in directions..

Flow...

I am an artist, I LOVE to create, but I also love my children and if I have a calling to put aside my lofty ambitions for some time to nurture my children, then so be it.

It's all part of the process, and I am all about

"Trust the Process"

Incubation..

I have to help to teach them to be creators, lovers, dreamers, shoe tiers :)

This doesn't mean I am dropping my crayons right here, right now... I am expressing my thoughts..

So again, I want people to follow their hearts..

I want good healthcare available to all, this includes:

Insurance that covers any type of healthcare that a person deems healthy, well care to them..

Chiropractor, essential oils or natural herbs if pharmaceuticals are not desired, acupuncture, tai chi, allopathic care, whole food

vitamins, nutritious food, counseling, energy work etc..

What does your heart say?

What does health look like to you?

Are you healthy? If not why?

What is it about your life that is preventing your health from being pristine?

what would bring more joy into your life?

And when it all comes down to it..

Are you following your heart?

Following your heart opens one up to infinite energy and well being..

But so many are afraid to, afraid because of all the illusions around us...

The what if's...

Well...What if the "what if's were..

What if I were happy

what if I were abundant

healthy

free..

We all are these things...we just have to believe it..

We just have to follow our hearts...

Sometimes the simplest things are the hardest to do..

The more we each, EACH change our energy we will begin to create a shift in the whole.

We can each make a difference in the world for the good and that is through ourselves..

through our joy we spread joy..

Its contagious, far more contagious than any virus...

So again, through my art I spread my love, encouragement of following the heart, and by just following my heart I send infinite love, joy and positivity into the world...

Faith...Plant your seed...Love..it comes from the heart..

What does your heart say?

your heart is your compass...follow it..

Over and out..

What are you afraid of?

For me what it comes down to is that my heart is saying more and more that its time to be here more now for my children, and THAT is where my energy is needed and where my energy will be replenished...

I am here now, I am grateful,

I am with baby

and the future looks bright but again...I am here now :)

Well, I've done it :)

I met my deadline.

(Indie looking all dapper for Christmas)

Here's what I have done:

Majority of my business plan, made tags for pieces,

made fabric labels, designed a stamp logo for fabric labels,

partially set up new Pixy Pocahontis Etsy store (waiting to be loaded with items),

Designed over forty five new headbands, twenty of which are going to market, gave all my headbands item #'s,

made a book of formulas for

each headband, stayed sane, designed a display for the headbands

(which came out AWESOME and I am very proud of myself), along the

(Indie Christmas morning)

process came up with new ideas for next/future collections,

ate a lot of chocolate, drank a bunch of wine and amazing vodka

(this buffalo brand that has a hint of coconut flavor to it) :)

Had family over for the holidays...used my new sewing machine...

Oh yeah and made two mannequin heads too...

Tomorrow is the big photo shoot..

SOOOO exciting!

Sorry I haven't written for so long,

BUT...

I do, while in the process, do many shout outs via instagram and Facebook..

Pixy Pocahontis and Nato Botto Art..

Gonna go..

Have some more loose ends to tie up..

I am SOOOOO grateful and

I trusted the process, even when I was in doubt ;)

I know I'm not alone

Trying to focus solely on what I want here but I am finding it rather difficult to keep my ego at bay. This is a wonderful opportunity I have before me..Having an art rep, bringing my creations to market..

This is a serious gig, and my creations are not serious..They come to me magically, not creating by "color collection" no serious planning, just creation, so..This is like a school project and the grade is, "will they sell?"

My ego is racing with comparisons, trying to make everything perfect."IT" (ego) is questioning my taste, my selections, my process, etc... It's kind of getting me down and nutso over here.

I think this is something that every artist comes up against at one time or another.

I don't like it.

I am really banking on my

"trust the process" necklace lately.

I'm getting down on myself for taking so long to do EVERYTHING in this process.

A display to make, tags, postcard/brochure, headbands, finish my etsy site, stamps made, mannequin heads, photo shoot,editing, headbands headbands headbands-20 different styles.

All of which I am totally grateful for but honestly..

Even with all my faith in my creations, loving them with all my heart,

But honestly...

I'm afraid..

What if they are not liked.

What if they are made fun of.

What if what if what if....

Grrrrrr.....

Where is my power?

Just Fucking do it!

All is well,

All is well and you never know until you

"just fucking do it"

Focus on what you want

Follow your heart

trust the process

have faith

and...plant your seed..

I feel like such a hermit lately..so engrossed in all of this...

gotta go, gotta get this "show" on the road...

Hello all...

It has been a busy week.

I can hardly believe its Thursday already.

I've had my face glued to the computer and hand to the pen and paper scribbling zillions of notes.

My studio is a MESS.

My brain is a little the same,

BUT

I have faith that this is a beautiful and productive mess,

and that gracefully,

all these notes, scraps of paper, saved computer pages will all drift into a nice neat pile titled:

Business Plan for Nato Botto Art.

I Hope you enjoy my inserted color inspirations..

They are a taste of what will come to fruition

in my spring/summer 2012 collections..

Oh what the flup!

Am I just on an endless reach for what I want?

Are my dreams too big?

Am I crazy or all of the above?

Well, I may be crazy, but I like to think my crazy is

"the good kind to be?"

and are working enJOYably everyday towards our dream

and....what if we infinitely worked toward that dream everyday,

The balance of "following your heart/spirit" living in this

Being able to stay focused in pure joy and love (spirit/heart)

while so many in the world focus on the negative things,

fear, worry, jealousy, illusions

It makes it difficult to not get sucked in..

This is where Faith comes in..

Don't let others illusions create an illusion for you

follow your heart

Have faith in what you believe in..

All hearts are one

No matter the difference of appearance

see only love

and again people..no one ever said this was easy

Juggling...

Hello all :) I just wanted to write a quick posting and say...

I'm not slacking here..

I'm juggling..

I have many fantastic things on my plate right now..

Kind of like an exploding pillow full of feathers in a joyous pillow fight..

Each feather, graciously floating in the air,

swaying from side to side,

all gently drifting into place.

One could look at it as complete chaos

but what I see is..

Divine timing.

"The Pixy Pocahontis"

What Goes Into Making a Pixy Pocahontis Headband :)

Have a little Pixy, free spirited and fun, have a little Pocahontis

grounded and strong, what's that say?

"Pixy Pocahontis."

Hair accessories and thing-a-ma-bobbers made with love.

Pixy Pocahontis hair accessories are made from

various scraps of fabric, Feathers, ribbon, yarn, embroidery floss, tulle, a tad of glue, buttons, trinkets and more.

Love Love Love..

This is the KEY ingredient.

Oh yeah, also Just letting go and following your heart.

What does it say?

Does it say put flowers with zig zag?

"Just fucking do it!"

Trust...

It's gonna look awesome :)

When making these little beauties I start with a

favorite type of plain headband.

(My favorite is Goody's fabric covered ones in bright primary colors. They have a medium thickness and thin..)

In this demonstration a plain plastic headband from goody is being used.

I start with some fabric that I've cut into 1 1/2-2 inch wide strips that are about a yard long.

A rotary cutter is GREAt for cutting the strips.

Get your glue gun..

I prefer the hottest guns for a super melted in the fabric connections.

No unraveling here...

Start at one end of your headband and glue down your fabric and begin to wrap it around until you get to the other end.

Glue again..

Caution!

The glue will burn your skin off, down to the bone.

Giggle..

You can then layer bits of fabric here and there if you desire, like a little patch work effect or like putting a

garter belt on your headband:)

I also like to embellish it with random bits of

embroidery floss and tulle..

Here and there..

Just following my heart in the process..

Feels good..

Some headbands are embellished with

Rosette thing-a-ma-bobbers, some with feathers, some with bits of scrap fabric, ribbon or tulle..

Oh and again..

Lots of joy!

Some of the headbands smell sooo good from the

use of essential oils in the process.

Oh geeze how do I explain the process of making the Rosettes?

Here it goes..

Get yourself a square-ish fabric base, sized a little larger than the size you want your rosette to be.

Then...

Take one of the strips of fabric that were cut for the headbands..

Make a knot at the very end of it.

Next, begin twisting and rolling the fabric around the knot, trying to create a circle around the knot..

now here is the tricky part..

Add little dabs of glue gun glue here and there to keep it secure and.....

Do this without burning the crap out of your fingers :)

What ever hurts us only makes us stronger right???

Once You get it to a desirable size glue

it down onto your square-ish base,

trim off excess..

Now you are ready to secure it to the headband.

"oh gosh"

All of a sudden I am really cravin' a gin/vodka tonic.

Is that wrong? lol

continue...

Next a little extra tulle strips are tied onto the headband,

near where the rosette will be, but not too close together because you need a semi smooth area of headband to glue the rosette to.

Now extra bits of fabric scraps

are layered upon, constructed together,

to form some extra embellishments for underneath the the rosette..

They are glued to the back of the rosette..

And then the rosette patch is glued onto the headband

Cute, eh? :)

Sometimes it just gets SO frustrating when I really want to get shit done, NOW!

It's 11:11 now:)

I have art shows coming up and all these damn butterflies

are filling my studio and the water is getting deep.

But...that little gentle voice,

the one that makes it all ok..

IT says "trust the Process"

This always seems to bring me back into alignment.

The sun just came out, for literally 20 seconds, it was beautiful..

I know my process...

I just wish I could remember it when I forget..

And when I forget my process it just means that I am out of alignment with my heart..

Travels to Sweden and Denmark, LOVE

I am Grateful!

That is my mantra.

If I can program myself to automatically repeat that saying anytime a negative thought crept inside my head that would be wonderful.

I am, just describing (you know how the law of attraction is..I wouldn't want to set this energy out into the world, so I am "just describing") feeling rather on the side of blah lately.

Low on energy, hard on myself, sore, stiff,

just flipping shitty. lol, hey just saying that made me feel better..

I am NOT shitty :)

Maybe I am still experiencing a bit of Jet lag? Possible?

I think so.

I AM grateful!I have everything going for me..

A beautiful family, loving husband that I LOVE to smooch everyday, old home with character, own business, art studio, and..

AND....

We all got to go on an awesome adventure to Sweden and Denmark a couple weeks ago.

I know this isn't relating much to my art, hope you are cool with that, I need a break from it, to share this happiness..

I am Grateful and here it goes..

We landed after a long flight, in Copenhagen, Denmark..

OMG it was SO QUIET...eerieingly quiet..Almost like wearing protective ear phones quiet, no joke.

This ended up being a common occurrence throughout this whole trip, I loved it...Quiet..

Headed to the baggage claim when Lukas, my oldest son-16 had immense pain in his abdomen. So intense his breath and speech was constricted and tears welled up in his eyes.

He is a Big man now and for him to be in such pain was frightening and for this to be happening in a foreign country was...

OMG, what do we do?

Fast forward-

A medical team came, took him into their ambulance, Lukas was freaking out, not only because of his pain but he was worried about how much this was going to cost..

Of course so were we but his care was first and foremost..But Lukas was so concerned he asked the paramedics..

Cute little hedgehog we found walking around in Malmo :)

Before his ride to the hospital took off out of the ambulance came one of the paramedics to say that the ride was free and so was the Healthcare..

We were in Denmark!

Hooray!

So off we all went, us in a mercedes mini van, getting a nice tour of Copenhagen en route to the hospital. And the hospital experience was quite positive and interesting.. ..

It's so different, so Quiet...

The hallways were so wide, again, so quiet, didn't smell of disinfectant, And it kind of reminded me of a mixture of school house rock and ikea, giggle

No more details other than Lukas was OK,

An extreme case of gas, lol..

Thank you Denmark for your kindness..

So off again, now on a train across the sea, to Malmo, Sweden.

Man are the trains spiffy..

Why do we not have such nice modes of transportation in the US?

And why is beer and wine free on international flights? lol

And why is it so loud here, in the states?

Such pushed panic towards "alert" "alert" watch your bags, do this do that... fear fear fear..

The castle

In Europe/ it was peaceful, quiet and kind.

Lukas and I outside the church.
I totally forgot my red scarf to match my shoes.
All I had was this leopard print..But I am grateful I had it cause it was nippy.
I LOVE my red shoes:)

Anyways..

So we were here for a wedding..

another fast forward..

Stephanie was the most elegant fashionista bride ever..She looked amazing!

After the ceremony, which was gorgeous we all took a march/skip/hop/jump/dance/tra la laaaa over to the castle where the reception was held.

During the stroll I took some photos of the streets of Malmo :)

I loved the old decorative cobble stone roads...

The phone booths were so cute...

Once we got onto the castle property there was a lake/pond,

A windmill

a long path lined with trees which felt as if I were in a storybook,

A lovely garden full of flowers, and these wonderful artichokes.

The reception was held in the Basement of the castle in bunker like rooms, with arched brickwalls/ceiling and old rustic wooden plank floors.

It smelled a little of burnt wood with a touch of wet stone and ambiance was extraordinary.

OMG, so fun!

What a hoot we all had with them.

We even found a left over mustache hidden in Indies Stroller the next day, which we stuck on his eyebrows while he was sleeping.

We spent the next couple of days walking the streets of Malmo, checking out the boutiques and coffee houses and our last day in Copenhagen at the Tivoli amusement park which was freaking amazing!

There was so much eye candy there..

I am so grateful for this experience, we are all so grateful to have gone together.

But as all times must come to an end, so did our trip..

We were sad to leave, giggle.

Happy Birthday Indie...We love you!!!

You know what else is a fun thing?

Playing car bowling with old jar lids and pull back/wind up cars..

Indie loves his cars, Especially these ones from Target

He could play all day with them, crawling around, overwinding them, lifting them up, letting the wheels spin, sound effects and all...

Anyways...I had a drawer full of lids that for some reason when unloading the dishwasher the kids never threw them in the recycle bin, again..anyways...

Who'd of thought that I would end up lining them up on the floor like shuffleboard and pulling those cars back and letting them drive into the herd of lids, exploding them everywhere!

Ah the fun! Indie loves that game, I do too :)

How Many Times can I say Time Warp :)

I know it's been awhile since I last posted..

I promise I am not a slacker, lol.

I have been busily at work.

I know, I know,

I should be sharing this process with you all more because if you are here reading my blog you must like it and be curious about what the heck is going on..

I am building balance, constructing my business how I would like it to be..Exactly..Tweeking it here and there..

AND...

On top of that I am preparing for three art shows I am in...

In the beginning of Sept. Amy Amdur show in Downers Grove

End of September Strange folk and the beginning of October..Highland Art in the Park.

I totally feel like I have a much clearer vision now of where I want to go and am looking forward to sharing it all with you..

But...things take time, especially when your a mama.

So please I hope you are all patient with my voids in blogging...

OH a totally good note...We now have a new nanny starting up next week! yay!

Forgot to mention this bit of info...On top of all the things going on around here..I have been without my normal nanny help since beginning of June.

I would also like to say...Please, all you mommies out there, make sure you have a totally trustworthy person taking care of your little one..I will not go into any details but something happened here with our past nanny that totally dented my trust.

I have confidence that our new Lady will be a good match.

So..I know this is a rambling post..but I wanted to say hello and I miss you all!

It is my plan to be on schedule with regular postings starting the week of August 15th..They will consist of a full blog post every Wednesday and little tidbit samplers throughout the week..

I have fun projects to share, teach and inspire with..

And of course my random babbles.

Today was a great day..

Genie and I worked lovingly, ever so focused on Headband creations.

I love this one, it's very simple but so fun..It's called Static :)

I wanted to share some of them with you...

Just a taste of the dots, glue, string and burnt fingers, lol.

I also wanted to throw in a couple of random photos I love.

The first one being of Julie, Ernie, Jan and Indie..

This is from a month or so ago when we were hanging out at The Abbey

enjoying the beautiful weather, playing a little I Ching :)

It is so nice to have great friends.

This next picture was taken at before lift off, of our first boat ride of the year..As you can see Lukas is in the engine

compartment..Already..Battery was dead :( lol..

BUt wait! we got it started..

Then...

It died out on the water..lol..AND when we tried to fix the problem it caught fire!..OMG!

Keep in mind this was Indie's first boating experience..

I sent him and Ava off the boat onto the tube we were going to play on..Life jacketed up and not a happy camper, lol..

THEN, we were taking on water...plug was missing :(

We are new to this thing, lol

giggle..

Had to blow the horn and be towed in by another boater.

Good thing the boat stalled because it was taking on water only when it was running, so if we kept going there would have been a real serious problem.

Everything happens for a reason :)

It was still a good day.

Did I mention that was Mother's day?

We have since had success and are all enjoying summer tremendously.

I am grateful.

Trust the Process

I thought I should take some time and explain a little more what it is that I am trying to achieve with all the “quotes” that I put in my creations.

Starting with “Trust the Process"

I don’t know how many of you have “thought” struggles in your day to day lives but I do at times, and through my art is how I am setting new “healthy” thinking patterns for myself and hopefully

for others that may need it as well.

I am not a therapist but I am a heart follower and this is part of my mission.

Creating art is my passion.

My passion is also a medicine, that I’d like to share with you.

My art contains love, joy, inspiration, encouragement and boundless energy.

“Your heart is your compass...Follow it”

This is where “Trust the Process” comes in.

Many of us believe that we should just get a job that pays our bills or get a job to afford to

buy things that help “make us happy or be considered of importance in society.

Don’t get me wrong, I like to be able to afford nice things, be able to travel and etc.. but the truth is in the end, it is not these things that make us happy.

I am not claiming to know anything new, I’m sure many of you have heard this before, but I am getting to the “Trust the Process” part :)

We have all inherited some great and some not so great/not so us thinking patterns.

I am changing the not so great/not for me patterns.

These include the following..Worry..Ego trip..self esteem.

Now why on earth would I choose to divulge this information so publicly?

Because I know there has to be many that can relate..so..

Many times, during my creative process, after my heart has spoken and given me guidance, Ego steps in...

I don’t think that’s a good idea, you’re gonna ruin it with that color, it doesn’t match, you didn’t try it out on another piece of paper first...and so on.

“Trust the process”

Other times when doing random things and intuition has guided me, instantly, showing me the way, Ego steps in..

I think you should do it this way, I don’t think its going to work that way, what if it breaks, you’re gonna hurt yourself, that’s just going to take way to long...etc...So also the question to ask yourself when the ego steps in is

"What does your heart say?"

then...follow it and...

“Trust the Process”

Regarding my path of health choices, which I choose to go mainly the alternative route using essential oils, Chiropractor, organic foods, etc...Ego steps in..

Most people get shots you know...you’re gonna catch something and not be able to fight it off, organic costs way to much besides you’ve spent the majority of your life without it and your alive, what if you can’t afford this type of care anymore?, this process takes much longer why don’t you just take a pill...etc...

“Trust the process”

Regarding my physical, you are a beautiful child of the Universe, no better no worse than any other child of god, Ego steps in...

You are pretty but...

Your arms look manly, look how feminine that girl looks, you should wear more girly things, you should exercise more (well my heart says this too for healthy reasons) your hands are knobby and nails are too short, you should be more womanly and let the men do more of the heavy lifting and manly things, etc..I could go on and on with this bull shit and it is BULL shit. An added quote goes along with these thoughts...

"Be gentle with yourself"

We are all pieces of the puzzle of life, without our uniqueness I don’t think we would fit together. Maybe? But if we were all the same wouldn't that be boring, I know we would feel safe but would we be growing?

Blah, sidetrack..

Anyways...Trust the Process works for me on many levels..

I love the connection we all can find in people we meet or have just seen and read about. All the things we learn from each other, helping us on our way, encouraging our freedom even further.

So many of us have been molded (not always purposely) into someone we are not, and we find ourselves fighting against this energy that is not our own, even sometimes thinking there is something wrong with us..WHEN in actuality it's just our insides tugging at us, letting us know that maybe something isn't right, some part that was "given" to us that doesn't fit into our journey.

Hope this makes sense.

I used to get angry really easy, pissed off, especially when certain people did things that just weren't nice. It was there lack of niceness in handling situations that just set me off and you know what?

That didn't make me any better than the person who was being mean..It just added to it.

I have ALWAYS been sensitive to any kind of meanness, picking on, bullying, etc. and yet when I was little I can admit that there were times that I picked on people, usually because they, again, pissed me off or I felt threatened.

I did NOT learn the best coping skills other than if someone pushes you around enough then you should stick up for yourself and push back and give them a bit of their own medicine.

No! No! No!

Every time I ever experienced any type of confrontation I ALWAYS felt horrible afterwards. "Why did happen?" I asked myself..

This is not want I want, all I want is to be surrounded by people I could play with and loved, but yet it didn't always work that way.

Our home life can have the hugest impact on who we are.

I am very grateful for the little voice that shined through the negativity that at times surrounded my life, reminding me of who I am (not always with the best detail, lol, but a lot of love and joy)

Always wanting to see the best in people and situations which at

times was confronted with someone only seeing the negative and reminding me of that, planting seeds that I really didn't want to grow. Then followed by comments like "you gotta watch your back, you can't trust people, your being naive.

I felt so conflicted! What the fuck, I just wanna have fun, love people, grow, create the life I want. I don't want to focus on all that other shit..

I met some really great people in high school that totally made a difference in my life. My ex-boyfriend Matt, who was very intelligent, sporty, focused, encouraging and a loving soul. His parents were very good people and raised great young men.

Matt, helped me tremendously in High School. I looked up to his achievements and it sparked something inside me to try harder in school and love myself. He is/was a truly kind person and am Very grateful to have met him.

Reminds me of that poem that went around the internet a while back, heck may still be traveling it for all I know, because its a good one..The one that pertains to "there are some people you meet in life and are friends for a season...Some for a lifetime..etc..know that one? Anyways..I totally click with it.

Jumping...

Alex, he sparked my spirituality curiosities which through my desire to learn more through Matt lead me on that adventure and I have been there ever since. Bridgett, she is/was my total "dreamer/inventor/encouraging/giggle buddy..

Wendy, "Mom", she nurtured me, calmed me and we had A LOT of fun adventures and laughs.

Kim, it was through seeing how she used her creativity to support herself, through following her heart, that lead me to doing the same, and we too had a lot of laughs.

And now...the Universe has lead me to so many wonderful new and positive people in my life, people of like mind.

All because I am following my heart!

I feel at home in their positivity.

What Does your Heart Say?

First I'd like to wish a Happy Birthday to my two oldest children..

Luke who just turned 16, oh my, and Ava who turned 14.

I love you both sooo much and wish you the best in all your life adventures. I am here for you always..Love Love Love and hugs!

My heart says I am totally grateful..

I know I repeat this phrase often but I find it to be of the utmost necessity to give thanks for all that that surrounds me and all that I am :)

I am surrounded by such wonderful friends and family that it makes me want to explode with hearty glitter sparkles.

Indie is growing so fast and every moment with him I am in awe of his spirit, being here with us.

I kiss him up, lots of sniffing his yummy baby scent..

He's beginning to mimic basic words we say and can babble up such a story.

Everyday I try to focus on our children understanding why we "work" (for me it feels like play). That they understand that we are following our passions and being loving parents too.

If I don't focus on that thought, sometimes my mind can wander to feeling like I am choosing to make art/run a business over being a parent and that I should just be with them.

It is my desire to keep the balance.

Lately I have been thinking more about community.

How can I be involved yet keeping to what I love to do, because that is when the energy I give the strongest, most beneficial.

I was thinking of going around the neighborhood, introducing myself (I know some of my neighbors names but...we all have our separate lives) Thinking of giving one of my business cards to each of them and letting them know that if there is anyway I can be of

service, as part of our community, using the skills that come from following my heart, to please call me..I would love to help :)

If I can make art and donate pieces to help raise money for specific events and such...If I can do some gardening for our neighborhood (love to dig, rake, wheelbarrow, plant flowers)

Design a logo or such for not for profits and so on and so forth.

I would like to be of service doing what I love.

I think it sets a great example for our children.

Sidetrack..My Iphone was out of commission last week, got it back Friday the third, Ava's birthday :)

Anyways..the day the screen froze on it (white screen of death) the phone for some reason took a picture of the last way the screen looked, exactly with time and date that it failed..

Peculiar...I was messaged by the loving voice in my space, to look up the numbers in the Angel Number book by Doreen Virtue..

Weekend of Boogies and Bookshelves :)

I have been a busy Bee :)

To bring you all up to date I have been doing the following:

1. Helping a friend do a remodel on her Brand Newly owned Bookstore

called Afterwords Books.

It's located in Edwardsville, IL.

I am soooo excited about the grand re-opening that will be held on Wednesday June 1st. and until then I am focusing on service.

I am very happy for Lu Lu and I wish her all the best in the world!!

And most of all I congratulate her for totally following her heart!

I am very grateful to have lend a hand in the decorative painting and creative design realm..AND..Am excited to have a wonderful new place to display my work, especially being the new line of Journals,

bookmarks and notecards that are coming soon!

It's going to be an awesome sight for current customers and all the new ones it will acquire.

2. I have been battling a freaking COLD!!! What the heck..I have not gotten one of these bad boys in a long time. This one especially sucks and the little one caught it too :(

IT just totally creeped up on my over night and hit hard..poop

Cold, it's time for your departure!

3. I don't know how many of you are aware of this because I spaced (cold, bookstore, getting ready for Kelly Rae Blog Sponsorship)

doing a blog entry on this, but...

I had a fund raising drive on Friday where 100% of proceeds from sold jewelry items in my shop were donated to the Red Cross..

At the end 240.00 was raised and I donated it last night and boy did that feel good :)

4. Silly but cute, I had this idea to make a Mommy Daddy Doll for

Indie.

He has been having a bit of separation anxiety lately and I figured that maybe if he had a doll with a picture of us on it he might

feel a little better.. I also infused it with Lavender..

(actually Genie and I sewed it)

I plan on making another with a better head and a little thicker body. What do you think of the idea?I think it would be great for

babies who miss their mommies and

daddies too!

Genie brought up that she thought that it would be a great doll for people in the military or parents who leave for business trips days at a time. Your comments are greatly appreciated..

I am loving it..

I appreciated the comments in my last post, thank you.

Got me to thinking..

so here I am typin'.

One of the comments had to do with honesty.

If I am focusing only on what I want, that is the most honest I can be with myself,

while being a positive influence on others..

I have my ups and downs some I'll share,

some I'll burn up and scatter amongst the Universe with intention of it being turned into love, and me having learned yet another lesson:)

There is enough shit in this world going on elsewhere

I want to change that.

Even if it's in my own little world.

I Like happy, it feels sooo good :)

I won't do this often,

heck this may be the one time,

maybe not :)

While I am in a good

GOOD place now..

I haven't always been.

Some of us didn't learn any better, but in me I always knew there was something more, a more happy cheerful world

to live in.

So I did my best to find it.

I went through obstacles, construction, destruction,

yelling, screaming, fighting, crying

uncomfortable living

learning all the way

Growing..

Until one day I heard a voice loud and clear.

and I FULLY listened to it.

More than I ever had before.

And it was uncomfortable, but comfortable at the same time.

Because deep down I knew this was it..

this was that world I was looking for and the only way I was gonna get there is if I listened.

And it said....

Follow your heart!

So FUCK!.....

all of you out there bitching and complaining,

like I once was (still can sometimes, giggle)

about how you life isn't how you want it to be,

Deep Breath

It's Monday, Adjustment day.

This day of the week seems to get more difficult for Indie as he grows. As I leave the room to start the day he screams for me...

My heart aches..

I wish I could be Mommy and Artist simultaneously.

Sharing giggles, exploring, creating, doing the business all together.

But here I am walking away up the stairs, feeling sad.

I love the little guy so much and as much as our Nanny is great to Indie, he still wants to be with me, and I with him.

Some days I question...

Should I be doing this artsy business thing?

He grows so fast, am I missing out...

What if he is my last baby and I am just creating it all away while he grows. :( I am grateful for the gentle voice in my heart.

You are doing your best and that is all you can do and you are doing

it beautifully"

But still, my heart aches sometimes, when I hear him screaming on these Mondays. I am grateful I have a nanny so I can be close to him whenever I want, or when he wants me "bad" too :)

Today he napped in my studio in his little bouncy hammock that his Gramma Pat got for him. He Loved it and slept very well..

Even awoke with little coo's instead of a scream.

He was grateful and so was I.
